The 8th annual Christmas In The Village Of Powhatan is quickly approaching and everyone is busy making plans.
Friday, November 8th
Our event begins with a Community Worship on Friday evening at 7:00pm at the Nazarene Church. There will be several of our churches represented at the service. This worship kicks off the weekend with unity, prayer and thanksgiving for all. Please join us for an inspiring evening.

Saturday, November 9th
The Christmas spirit will be throughout our town and the day begins with a pancake breakfast with Santa at the Masonic Hall sponsored by the Captina Eastern Stars.
You will find crafters at the Powhatan Community Center, formally known as the Powhatan Elementary School. There will also be ponies and a train ride for the little ones to enjoy! Drip E. Faucet will also be there to entertain them as a magician, juggler and plumber. The Powhatan Library is sponsoring his performance. There will be food and baked goods sold there also.
A new location for this year is our beautiful Marina located on Main Street along Captina Creek.
You will find entertainment, food, inflatable's and lots more at this location.
On Route 7, you will find pictures with Santa and the Balloon Man. You will also find food and baked goods being sold there.
On Route 7 South, the Nazarene Church will be having food, crafts and a door prize..
The following church and businesses will also be participating: Church of God, Yard Décor & More, Northside Tanning & Gift Shop, Hanks Place, Sweet Nicks' Flowers & Gifts, The Frosty Treat, Fras' Auto & HD Auto Parts, Main Street Florist, Riverside Restaurant, OYO Market, McNears Hardware, Old South BBQ, Oyster Bay, American Legion, Convenient Food Store, Tom's Carry Out, Powhatan Library and Cam Safety. All of these will be having refreshments and or door prizes.
The festival will provide two shuttle buses to make your journey thru town a lot easier.
These shuttles are free to the public that day and are graciously donated by
Zandex Health Care.
There will be free parking at designated areas for you to park and leave the driving to us!
Programs will provide information on all the activities with a map to help you find your destination. Look for these programs at participating businesses and information booths at the Marina and Community Center.
The day will end with the annual Firemen and EMS lighted parade that will start at 6:30pm in front of
Fras' Auto & HD Parts on North Main Street.
The parade then proceeds south on Main Street and ends up at the Community Center for refreshments and the presenting of awards for the parade.
